Pooley Bridge is a village in the Eden District of the northwestern English county of Cumbria, within the traditional borders of Westmorland. The mid-18th century Pooley bridge, which was completed in 1764, was washed away by floodwaters in December 2015.

Replacing an earlier structure from the 16th Century, Pooley Bridge was a charming stone bridge constructed in 1764 that spanned the River Eamont along the historic boundary between Cumberland and Westmorland counties. Unfortunately, this historic structure was destroyed by floodwaters that were the result of Storm Desmond in 2015.

Pooley Bridge was an historic stone road bridge that crossed the River Eamont in the village of Pooley Bridge near the northern end of Ullswater. It connected two civil parishes, Barton and Pooley Bridge and Dacre, and was grade II listed in January 1991.

The new Pooley Bridge near Ullswater is the permanent replacement for a 250-year-old crossing that was destroyed in 2015 by Storm Desmond. Cumbria County Council said the 128ft (39m) single-span structure was the first stainless steel road bridge of its kind in the country. Among the first to cross were farmer William Coulston and his Swaledales.
